Um… We Can See Through That!

11 Nov

Has anyone noticed this new trend? Bandos and see through shirts have become a thing a lot of girls wear.

These cute but revealing looks may be trendy, but a little too provocative for in public. The see through fabric makes the shirt almost not there, and because there is so much skin showing, it is basically the same thing as wearing a bikini top in public. But because a person is wearing a piece of cloth underneath covering their chest area it makes it okay? I don’t think so. These tops are perfect for going to the beach or just hanging out during the summer months, but they’re a little too revealing for school and for walking around during winter and fall. But, if you like them, you can get them at the Urban Outfitters website.

Do you agree or disagree? Leave a coment to tell us what ou think about this trend. 🙂

I’ve seen a lot of celebs wearing these and bra tops which were big this year. I love chiffon and have sheer items but they can be worn in ways that don’t mimic negligee. They can be worn with tops and vests – or whatever part of they body they are designed for they can be worn in layers and be revealing/alluring without everything hanging out.

I completely agree. I’ve seen this trending for a while now and women (young and young-ish) just lapping it up and thinking it’s stylish. It’s the same as wearing negligee or like you said, beachwear and that’s the point right there – people don’t mind wearing very little in public if it’s swimwear or associated with swimwear yet they cringe at the idea of wearing only their underwear in public. It’s practically the same thing and swimwear isn’t worn by everyone to swim in, many people wear it just to be near the water. What is the excuse for wearing it on the street and not a beach or pool? There isn’t one except that it’s fashionable or apparently ’empowering’. I call it playing into the hands of those who like to take away the power of the ‘consumer’.

That is exactly how I feel. Many girls just want an excuse to show off more skin and the saddest part is it’s sociably acceptable.

Yeah, it doesn’t surprise me though with the huge trend of wearing footless tights/pantyhose as leggings without a long enough top or dress over them. Only full lycra leggings can be worn with short tops and only in certain outfits does it look decent, similar to how regular cotton and spandex leggings are passable with short tops when working out but even then it’s very self conscious.
